Our Current Position

As indicated elsewhere on this website, we have now completed the development phase of our 'Age With Dignity' project and have started rolling out our social support services to our beneficiaries. The overriding aim of this social support is to provide our service users with information, tangible assistance, and emotional comfort, thus combining emotional and instrumental support. In essence, whilst we endeavour to to show that we care and are trying to understand the varying situations of our service users, we also help them with their needs and daily activities including cooking, shopping, cleaning inside and outside their houses, and keeping them company among others.

However, we are mindful of the complexities associated with the social support services we are providing, including the fact that lonely and/or socially isolated people also want to maintain a feeling of independence, or not be a burden to the community. This is why our fist step in our 'Age With Dignity' project is to ensure that all our staff and volunteers are drawn from the health and social care sector with long-term experience and knowledge about these issues. 

Ongoing training and support to our staff and volunteers will be provided to ensure that the quality and effectiveness of our services continue to grow from strength to strength. Once significant progress has been made within this activity, we will then consider adding other aspects of the other activities making them as flexible as possible while taking into account the needs of our service users.
